AS Monaco-LFP deal: appeal against the transaction filed with the French Council of State

An appeal against the agreement signed on 24/01/2014 between the LFP (French Professional Football League) and AS Monaco, which allows the club to keep its headquarters within the Principality in exchange for the payment of €50m over the next two years (€25m annually) was presented to the French Council of State on 18/02/2014.

This action was the work of seven leaders of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2: presidents Jean-Louis Triaud (Girondins de Bordeaux, Ligue 1), Jean-François Fortin (SM Caen, Ligue 2), Michel Seydoux (Lille, Ligue 1), Loic Fery (FC Lorient, Ligue 1), Vincent Labrune (Olympique de Marseille, Ligue 1), the deputy chairman Laurent Nicollin of Montpellier HSC (Ligue 1) and Jean-Claude Blanc, COO of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1).

They sent a letter to Frederick Thiriez, president of the LFP on 12/02/2014, in which they disputed the agreement signed with AS Monaco, describing it as "hasty, not transparent and insufficient."
