Germany: Football Federation posts 7.13 million members (+0.6%, 8^th consecutive year of increase)

"For the eighth consecutive year, the German Football Federation (DFB) has registered an increase in the number of its registered members. Today, 7,131,936 people, or 41,829 more than the previous year (+0.6%), are registered in the 21 associations of Länder of the DFB," announced the DFB on 05/07/2019.

"At the same time, the number of clubs and teams in Germany continues to decrease slightly (see below). To counter this trend, the DFB plans to adopt an action plan to further strengthen amateur football, at the General Assembly of 27/09/2019," added the DFB.

"The overall increase in the number of members is still attributable to the growth of the senior and female categories. As in previous years, part of the absolute increase is also due to the adherence of supporters as club members," said the German Federation.
