Premier League: +13.3 million fans for Liverpool on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in 2018-19

Liverpool FC (Premier League) currently has 65.7 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/07/2019, 13.3 million more than on 01/08/2018 (52 million fans at the time, thus +25.4%). No other club progressed as much in the English top division during the 2018-19 season.

On the scale of the European Top 5 leagues, the winners of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League are only surpassed by Juventus FC (Serie A TIM, +20 million fans on the season), FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, +17.6 million) and Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, +16.4 million). The growth of the Liverpool club's digital community is mainly focused on Instagram, the social network where the club which finished second in the 2018-19 Premier League added more than 9 million followers.

At the national level, Liverpool FC is only the fourth club most followed on social networks. The English podium is composed of Manchester United FC (125 million fans, +7.1% compared to 01/08/2018), Chelsea FC (81.5 million, +8.6%) and Arsenal FC (67 million , +6%).
