OGC Nice: club employees vote in favour of billionaire Jim Ratcliffe's (ENG) takeover project

The employees of OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama) have given a favourable opinion to the takeover of the club by the British businessman and billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, according to information collected by News Tank Football on 09/07/2019.

The elected representatives of the employee council of the Nice club, whose opinion is only advisory, were convened by Gauthier Ganaye, president of the OGC Nice, on Tuesday 09/07/2019, in order to be have the takeover project presented by Robert Ratcliffe, Jim Ratcliffe's brother.

The transaction, estimated to be around €100m, will then be submitted to the DNCG (French football financial control) for examination, then to that of the competition authority of the same body. The officialisation of the OGC Nice takeover by the Briton could thus take place in August 2019.

At the head of one of the biggest fortunes of the United Kingdom, Jim Ratcliffe runs Ineos, a company specializing in the chemical/oils sector, and already the owner of the Swiss club Lausanne-Sport (Challenge League, second division).
