CD Leganés: economic impact of €127.4m to its city and more than 700 jobs created in 2017

Club Deportivo Leganés (LaLiga Santander) had a total economic impact of €127.41m to the city of Leganés (city of about 185,000 inhabitants, located 11 kilometers southwest from Madrid, ESP), according to a report by the Spanish independent consulting agency "We-responsibility social", and published by the club on 05/07/2019.

"The jobs generated by CD Leganés during the 2017-18 season have benefited more than 700 families. These 700 jobs represent 1.4% of the total number of jobs created in the area over the period," said the Spanish club.

To evaluate the economic impact of CD Leganés, added to the direct impact of the club (revenue generated directly by the club, €52.6m in 2017-18), was its indirect impact (suppliers and revenues to other sectors, €42.54m) and its consumer impact (consumption of goods and services by employees in sectors benefiting from the club's activity, €32.22m).
