LaLiga Santander: +17.6 million fans for FC Barcelona on Facebook Twitter and Instagram in 2018-19

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) has more than 230 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/07/2019. This total is nearly 17.6 million more than on 01/08/2018 (213 million fans, +8.2%). No other club experienced such a progression in the Spanish league during the 2018-19 season.

Among the clubs of the European Top 5, FC Barcelona is second only to Juventus FC (Serie A TIM, +20 million fans). The growth of the Catalan club's digital community is mainly focused on Instagram, a social network on which it has gained nearly 15 million followers.

At the national level, the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander champions are not the most followed club on social media. Real Madrid CF has 237 million fans as of 01/07/2019 (+7.4% compared to 01/08/2018). Far behind, Club Atlético de Madrid complete the podium with nearly 26 million fans (+12.6%).
