Eleven Sports: Polsat (free+pay TV) 99.9% shareholder of the Polish subsidiary (valued at €77m)

Polsat, a Polish free and pay-TV group, has become a 99.9% shareholder in the Polish subsidiary of the British audiovisual group Eleven Sports, according to the Polish Trade Registry on 10/07/2019.

Aser Group, the holding company of Eleven Sports and Leeds United FC (Sky Bet Championship) led by Andrea Radrizzani (ITA), retains one share within the 6,678 of the company. Polsat has been the majority shareholder (50% +1 share) of Eleven Sports Poland since 25/05/2018 and has spent a total of €77m on the two operations, according to Polish media.

Eleven Sports has nearly two million subscribers in Poland, where it has four channels and broadcasts matches of LaLiga Santander (rights shared with Canal+'s subsidiary NC Plus for the 2018-2021 period), the Bundesliga, the Serie A TIM (2018-2021) and UEFA qualifiers until 2021-22.

  • In terms of audience, Eleven Sports 1 is the fourth largest sports channel in Poland (during the first half of 2019) with an average audience share of 0.17%, behind TVP Sport (audience share: 1.23%), Eurosport 1 (0.58%) and Polsat Sport (0.41%).
