Euro 2020: a record 19.3 million ticket requests or 12.8 requests per available ticket

"UEFA received a stunning 19.3 million ticket requests during the first sales window for UEFA Euro 2020, smashing the record of 11 million set during the equivalent phase ahead of UEFA Euro 2016," announced the European body on 15/07/2019.

"Euro 2020 will be the biggest Euro ever with 3 million tickets available across 12 host cities (Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome and Saint Petersburg)," said UEFA, organisers of the competition, which will celebrate its 60^th anniversary in 2020. 11 of the 12 stadiums have a capacity of over 50,000, while Copenhagen's Parken Stadium is the only one with a capacity under this figure (38,065).

"1.5 million tickets went on sale from 12/06 to 12/07/2019 (which means that on average, 12.8 requests were registered for each available ticket). Tickets for all venues will be allocated by a random, fair ballot conducted at the end of July 2019. Fans will be informed of the outcome of their applications by mid-August 2019 at the latest," added UEFA.
