Serie BKT: exclusion of the US Palermo confirmed by the FIGC, Venezia FC reinstated

"In view of the opinion of COVISOC (Commissione di Vigilanza sulle Società di Calcio Professionistiche, the Italian football financial control), the Federal Council (of the FIGC) has rejected the appeal of the Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo and voted unanimously for the readmission of Venezia FC into Serie BKT for the season 2019-20," announced the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) on 12/07/2019.

COVISIC confirmed its decision to exclude Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo from the next Italian second division season for "lack of meeting of the economic and financial criteria necessary to obtain the national license for admission to the championship of Serie BKT in 2019-20," announced the control body that works from the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), on 05/07/2019.

This final, definitive exclusion of the Sicilian club thus benefits Venezia FC, who finished 15^th (out of 19 teams) in the Serie BKT at the end of the 2018-19 season (with 38 points), and were relegated to the Serie C after losing the relegation "play-out" (against 16^th place US Salernitana).
