LaLiga Santander: FC Barcelona will inaugurate the 6,000-capacity Johan-Cruyff Stadium on 27/08/2019

"The club's board of directors has approved that the inauguration ceremony of the Johan Cruyff Stadium, the first facility of the new Espai Barça project, will take place on 27/08/2019," announced FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) on 15/07/2019. Located 8.5km from the Camp Nou, in the Joan Gamper sports complex, the 6,000-seat stadium will host the matches of FC Barcelona B, the women's team and the U19 team for its Youth League matches.

The construction of the Johan-Cruyff Stadium is part of the Espai Barça project (total cost of around €600m), which includes the renovation of the Camp Nou (increased to 105,000 covered seats, from 99,354 currently not covered), as well as other club facilities such as the Palau Blaugrana (where the club's basketball, handball, futsal and indoor hockey teams play), the museum and megastore.

"The event will take place from 19.00 (CET), with a public party with entertainment activities around the stadium, and a match between FC Barcelona and AFC Ajax's (Eredivisie) U-19 teams, from 21.00 (CET) as a central event," said the Catalan club.
