2018-19 Premier League: a cumulative global audience of 1.35 billion viewers (+11%)

According to a study by the sports research agency Nielsen Sports, the live broadcasting of Premier League matches in 2018-19 posted a cumulative global audience of 1.35 billion viewers, up 11% compared to the 2017-18 season, announced the English League on 16/07/2019.

"As Manchester City FC and Liverpool FC contested a thrilling title race, a cumulative global audience of 3.2 billion for all programming watched the action between August 2018 and May 2019, an increase of 6% on the previous season," said the Premier League.

"Growth was driven by new free-to-air coverage in several countries, notably Brazil and South Africa, while there was also a continued increase in live audiences in the UK," added the Premier League.
