DAZN: distribution agreement with Eurosport in 4 countries, acquisition of Bundesliga TV rights

The British sports OTT platform DAZN has concluded an agreement with the American audiovisual conglomerate Discovery to distribute the Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 pay-TV channels to its subscribers in Germany, Austria, Spain and Italy, on 18/07/2019.

In addition to this distribution agreement, DAZN acquires, via sublicense from Eurosport, Lot A of the Bundesliga broadcast rights in Germany and Austria for the last two seasons of the 2017-2021 cycle. This lot includes 40 Bundesliga matches season (37 exclusive, 3 non-exclusive) across time slots on Friday evenings(20:30 CET), Sunday afternoon (13:30) and Monday evening (20:30), the promotion-relegation play-offs between the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga and that between the 2.Bundesliga and the 3.Liga, as well as the German Super Cup. Eurosport acquired these rights for an estimated amount of €70m per year on 09/06/2016.
