Spain: free-TV Mediaset launches an OTT offer with LaLiga and the European Cup matches (€35/month)

The free-TV group Mediaset España has now announced the launch of a pay-TV offer (€35 per month, €30 for the first three months) which includes LaLiga Santander (nine matches out of 10 per matchday), LaLiga 1|2|3 (nine matches out of 11), the Champions League and the Europa League, on 19/07/2019.

Mediaset España has entered into an agreement with Telefonica to distribute the three football channels that the Spanish telecommunications operator will be offering from the 2019-20 season. Telefonica owns the broadcasting rights in Spain of LaLiga Santander (nine matches out of 10) and LaLiga 1|2|3 (nine matches out of 11) for almost €1bn per season (2019-2022 cycle), as well as those for the European Cups over the 2018-2021 cycle, which were acquired from the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, for €360m per season on 28/06/2018.

This new Mediaset España offer will be offered with "Mitele Plus", an OTT offer in which the group offers the broadcasting of its free general interest (Cuatro and Telecinco) and thematic (Factoriadeficcion, Boing, EnergyTV, Divinity and Be Mad) channels…
