CAF: Didier Drogba (CIV) and Samuel Eto'o (CMR) appointed special advisors to president Ahmad Ahmad

The Ivorian football Didier Drogba (African Player of the Year 2006 and 2009) has been appointed as special adviser to Ahmad Ahmad, president of CAF, in charge of improving the status of African players, while Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o (African Player of the Year 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010 and two-time African champion in 2000 and 2002), has been made special advisor on relations with Federations and Confederations, announced Ahmad Ahmad (MAD) on 18/07/2019, the evening before the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal - Algeria (0-1) at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt, on Friday 19/07/2019.

"I apologise to the executive committee that I have not yet notified them, as it is very personal. The president has chosen Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba to be his closest collaborators from now on, they will hold official positions," explained the CAF president, referring to himself in the third person.
