Premier League: iON, manufacturer of portable cameras, partner of Manchester City until 2017

iON, the U.S. manufacturer of portable HD cameras, has become a partner of Manchester City (Premier League), announced the club on 25/02/2014. The brand is under contract until the end of the 2016-17 season.

iON will provide the club with cameras. Most notably, it will install several models around the portions of Etihad Stadium exclusively dedicated to the club's supporters' groups, BT City Square. The tools provided by iON will also be used by the players and the technical staff for video performance analysis.

"The nature of the innovative content will also be a big hit with our fans around the world, especially during our International pre-season tours, where the cameras will play a key role," said Tom Glick, the commercial director of Manchester City.

iON replaces rival GoPro as "partner camera" of the Citizens. The American brand GoPro had formalised an agreement with the club on 21/08/2013.
