Brighton & Hove Albion: an economic impact of £212m (€236m) on the local economy in 2017-18

Brighton & Hove Albion (Premier League) had a total economic impact of £212m (€236m) on the local economy in 2017-18, according to a study commissioned by the club, conducted by the consulting firm Marshall Regen and the University of Chichester, and announced by the club on 18/07/2019.

"The report shows that Brighton are responsible for 2,200 jobs, with more than 90% living locally in the Sussex area. The club and their employees pay £54m (€60m) to the Treasury each year," said the club based in Brighton (ENG), a coastal town located south of London.

"More than 100,000 people visited the AMEX Stadium (30,750 capacity) for non-matchday events including conferences throughout 2017-18. Combined with spending by home and away fans, this provided more than £8.5m (€9.5m) for the local visitor economy," said the club.

"Albion were watched by a global TV audience of 102 million people in their first season in the Premier League, boosting the city's international profile," added the Premier League club.
