Total 2019 AFCON: the competition was broadcast in "more than 110 countries" (Lagardère Sports)

"The latest edition of the Total Africa Cup of Nations (2019) is coming to more fans across the globe than ever before (via press, TV, radio and digital), bringing them closer to the action and excitement of the tournament. This edition now features 52 matches bringing together 24 teams across 6 different locations which is a first for the competition," said Lagardère Sports, CAF's media and marketing rights agency over the 2017-2028 period, on 22/07/2019.

"The 2019 edition of the Total Africa Cup of Nations, was available to fans in Brazil, Russia, and new territories in Europe (Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, Norway, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden) enabling more than half the world's population across more than 110 countries to follow the entire competition on television," added Lagardère Sports.

"Fans were able to enjoy more games than ever and thanks to the high quality of production, broadcast of the opening and final matches in 4K and the introduction of VAR from the quarter finals onwards," said the agency.
