Rugby: Samsung (electronics, KOR) becomes a shorts sponsor of the Springboks (2019-2021)

Samsung, a South Korean electronics group, has become the "official electronic partner" and shorts sponsor of the South African national rugby team for two years, according to the South African Rugby Union (SA Rugby), on 19/07/2019. Samsung first appeared on the back of the team's shorts in the Rugby Championship match versus Australia (35-17) on Saturday 20/07/2019.

Samsung joins Land Rover (agreement signed on 01/09/2017) on the shorts of the Springboks. The South African bank First National Bank (FNB) became the back jersey sponsor of the South African national rugby team on 07/08/2017. The three-year agreement, was estimated at R20m (€1.3m on 09/08/2017) per year, according to local media reports on 07/08/2017.

FNB joined MTN, a South African telecommunications company, which became a major partner of SA Rugby and main jersey sponsor of the South African national rugby team for three seasons (2017-2020), on 09/06/2017.
