Ineos (chemicals): invested in sports (OGC Nice, a cycling team, America's Cup, marathon runner)

Jim Ratcliffe, one of the UK's wealthiest men, and founder, chairman and CEO of Ineos, a chemical group that owns the Swiss club Lausanne-Sport (Brack.ch Challenge League), is in the process of acquiring OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama), after having taken over a cycling team, a sailing team and having supported Eliud Kipchoge, a Kenyan marathon runner.

• Football: employees of OGC Nice have given a favourable opinion on the proposed takeover of the club by Jim Ratcliffe, according to information gathered by News Tank Football, on 09/07/2019. This should result in a takeover estimated to be in the region of €100m, subject to reviews by the DNCG and then the Competition Authority.

• Cycling: the British chemical group succeeded the British telecommunications group Sky as owner of Tour Racing Limited, the holding company of the Team Sky cycling team, on 01/05/2019.
