FC Barcelona: the only club to exceed one billion interactions on social media in 2018-19

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the football club that generated the most interactions on social media, and the only club to exceed one billion interactions (1.086 billion) during the 2018-19 season, according to the Catalan club on 24/07/2019.

The Catalan club is ahead of two Premier League clubs, Manchester United FC (916 million) and Liverpool FC (754 million), according to figures provided by Blinkfire Analytics and Crowdtangle, companies specialised in measuring social network data.

The 963 million interactions posted by FC Barcelona were recorded on Instagram, representing 88% of the total recorded during the season, the rest being split between Facebook (82 million) and Twitter (40 million). Only the main accounts of the clubs on these three platforms were taken into account.
