Nîmes Olympique: presentation of the future 15,100 capacity "Stade Nemausus" scheduled for 2023

Nîmes Olympique (Ligue 1 Conforama) has presented its project for the "Stade Nemausus" (from the ancient name of the city of Nîmes, France), on 25/07/2019. The stadium will be able to accommodate 15,100 spectators from 2023 onwards and cost €55m (excluding taxes).

For the project to be carried out, the current Stade des Costières (15,788 capacity) will be demolished. The new venue, designed by the architects Valode & Pistre, will feature exterior architecture composed of arches to recall the ancient arenas for which the city is renowned.

The global project extends beyond the stadium, as a total of 800 housing units, a higher education school, 20,000 m² of office space and areas for leisure and local business activities, a hotel (with 80 rooms), a restaurant and a swimming pool, are also planned. The total cost of the development (the area + stadium) is estimated at €200m (excluding taxes).
