Malta: Bjorn Vassallo succeeds Norman Darmanin Demajo as president of the Football Association

Bjorn Vassallo has been elected for a four-year term as the new Malta Football Association (MFA) president at the association's annual general meeting in Floriana (on 20/07/2019)," said UEFA on 22/07/2019.

Vassallo obtained 83 votes out of a total of 137 votes (60.6%), while fellow candidate Chris Bonett, received 54 votes.

Bjorn Vassallo, 39 (born 20/01/1980), was CEO and then secretary general of the Maltese Association. He succeeds Norman Darmanin Demajo, who was first elected in 2010 and decided to step down at the end of his third three-year term.

Matthew Paris, Ludovico Micallef and Adrian Casha were elected as vice-presidents of the MFA at the same annual general meeting.
