"F1 New Balance Esports Series China Championship", an eSports competition organised by Formula One Group and part of the "F1 New Balance Esports Series", will take place between August and December 2019, according to the American holding company that holds the rights to Formula 1, on 24/07/2019. This regional eSports competition will be held in partnership with the Chinese company Shanghai Juss Intellisports, which announced the creation of the competition in May 2019.

"The China Championship will open with qualifications across China before Regional Finals, with the very best 100 Chinese sim racers participating to the Grand Final. The champion and runner-up of the China Championship will join other talents in the 2020 F1 Esports Pro Draft for the chance to compete for a seat with an official F1 Esports Team. Fans will be able to participate in a warm-up qualifying event at CapitaMall LuOne in Shanghai (CHN) from 29/07 to 03/08/2019. A kick-off ceremony will celebrate the opening of the China Championship in the same location on 04/08/2019," explained Formula One Group.
