Technological innovations in sport rewarded in London, 04/04/2014

Chelsea FC, Manchester City FC, Sport BT, O2 and Vodafone Group, these are some of the named entities for the Sports Technology Awards to be held in London on 04/04/2014. This ceremony recognizes various technological innovations used by sports clubs, sponsors, media and federations. A total of 113 finalists were selected in 19 different categories.

"The influence of technology in sport continues to grow and even when it is not seen, it is put to use in many areas," said Rebecca Hopkins, director of the Sport Technology Awards on 17/02/2014. The ceremony was created to be a showcase for companies that improve elements of sport.

"The winners will be chosen by a jury of 32 professionals includes Graham Poll (international referee), Alex Trickett (director of sports content for Twitter UK), Graham Fleet (senior vice president of IMG Football), David Sheepshanks (chairman of St George's Park) and Sree Varma (founder and CEO of iSportconnect).
