Piracy: LaLiga renews its agreement with the Pro League to fight audiovisual piracy

The Pro League and LaLiga have renewed their agreement signed in March 2018, whereby LaLiga provides services in the fight against audiovisual piracy, for the 2019-20 season, according to the Spanish League on 25/07/2019.

LaLiga applies its own tools for detecting, analysing and deleting illegal audiovisual content showing Jupiler Pro League matches on social networks, applications and streaming websites and IPTV.

"The numbers from last season show us that the battle against piracy is more important than ever before. Our effective collaboration with LaLiga forms a crucial part of our Anti-Piracy Action Plan. Currently we are having discussions with various stakeholders to even increase our battle against piracy so to continue to safeguard the value of our competition in the future. The renewal and optimisation of our agreement with La Liga reinforces this intention," said Pierre François, CEO of the Pro League.
