China: Internet group Tencent extends as NBA's exclusive digital partner until 2024-25

Tencent Holdings Limited, a Chinese Internet services group, has extended its partnership with the NBA in China for five seasons until 2024-25, on 28/07/2019. Tencent had previously extended its partnership with the NBA to become its exclusive digital partner in China until 30/06/2020, on 30/01/2015. The agreement with Tenecent "represents NBA's largest partnership outside United States," according to the professional basketball league. The American economic media company Bloomberg estimated the value of the partnership to be $700m (€612m on 04/02/2015) over five years (an average of $140m per season, €122.4m).

The partnership continues to focus on broadcasting, both live and replays of NBA games (pre-season, regular season, All-Star Game, play-offs, finals), highlights of these games and other NBA content (dedicated programmes, pre-season draft), on Tencent's websites, social networks and mobile applications (QQ.com, Tencent Sports, Tencent News, Tencent Video, QQ, Weixin and Weshi).
