France: one game per week of third division National 1 to be broadcast on Canal+ Sport in 2019-20

The pay-TV channel Canal+ Sport will broadcast one game per matchday of the National a (French third division) in the 2019-20 season, Friday nights at 18:00 CET. "This is an interesting niche because it will be tied to a promising event, namely the Ligue 1 match that will follow (at 20:45)," said Laurent Jaoui, editor-in-chief of the Canal+ group, on 29/07/2019.

Canal+ holds these rights for one season, while the FFF initially launched a tender for three years (2019-2022) on 18/04/2019.

The other games will be broadcast on the FFF's TV digital platform and on the FFF YouTube and Dailymotion channels.

• Canal+ had acquired, for the 2016-2019 cycle, the rights to broadcast one game per matchday of the National (renamed National 1 since the 2017-18 season), for an amount of 600,000 euros per season, on 05/07/2016.

2019-20 National 1: first matchday this Friday 02/08/2019 (20:00 CET)

• Canal+ Sport does not broadcast a game during this first matchday.
