Spain: Iberdrola (wind turbines) title sponsor of the women's first division until 2024-25

Iberdrola, Spain's leading wind energy company, has extended as the title sponsor of the Spanish women's first division for six seasons, until 2024-25, announced the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF) on 01/08/2019. Called "Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF" between 2016-17 and 2018-19, the competition is now called "Primera Iberdrola" (16 teams).

This extended agreement also covers the naming rights of the Spanish women's second division, which takes the name "Reto Iberdrola" (32 teams, two groups). A partner of the Spanish Federation since 2009, Iberdrola remains the main sponsor of women's football in Spain. Iberdrola became title sponsor of Spain's first women's division for the 2016-2019 cycle on 22/08/2016.

On the occasion of this partnership, the RFEF presented its new initiatives to develop women's football in Spain, such as the induction of a fourth referee for the games of the Primera Iberdrola, the obligation to have flocked jerseys with the names of the players competing in the same competition, and the obligation to have at least three women's teams for…
