Union Berlin: special tribute to deceased fans for the club's first ever Bundesliga match

1.FC Union Berlin (Bundesliga) has offered its fans the opportunity to individually build their own banners with a photograph of deceased loved ones who were fans of the club, in order to make a large tifo to honor their memory during the first ever Bundesliga match in the history of the club at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei (22,012 capacity), against RB Leipzig (Matchday 1 of the 2019-20 Bundesliga, on 18/08/2019), the Berlin club announced on 25/08/2019.

"Countless Union supporters, who have supported and followed the club on its way, will no longer be with us to celebrate this iconic experience. All of them are sorely missed, and so the idea was born among the Union family to commemorate them with a special campaign," stated the German capital city club, promoted to the 2019-20 Bundesliga after finishing third in the 2018-19 2.Bundesliga, and then defeating VfB Stuttgart in the promotion-relegation play-offs (see below).
