Spain: RFEF - LaLiga conflict about match time slots, distribution of TV rights in the background

Will the 2019-20 LaLiga Santander season begin as planned with the Athletic Club - FC Barcelona match, at the Estadio San Mamés in Bilbao (ESP) on Friday 16/08/2019 (kick-off at 21:00 CET)? This is one of the issues in the current legal conflict between the RFEF and LaLiga.

The case has been before the commercial court of Madrid (ESP) since 07/08/2019. The judge has five days to validate, or not, the schedule proposed by LaLiga with matches on Fridays and Mondays, while the Spanish Federation now requires all games of the first two Spanish divisions are to be played on Saturdays and Sundays.

"The Royal Spanish Football Federation approves the rules for the first and second division competitions for the 2019-20 season, which stipulates, among other things, that 'every matchday of official competition shall be played on Saturdays or Sundays in the time slots scheduled' (Saturdays between 12.00 and 21.01, Sundays between 11.00 and 13.01 and between 17.00 and 21.01)," announced the RFEF on 31/07/2019.
