"After a record peak during the 2018 World Cup, we saw a slight and anticipated drop in the number of subscribers early last season with the loss of the Champions League. Nevertheless, we are delighted to have more than 3.4 million subscribers to date, a level almost equivalent to our pre-World Cup base, despite the loss of the Champions League and the increase in illegal piracy currently facing the sector," stated beIN Sports France to News Tank Football on 08/08/2019.

The pay-TV group beIN Sports France recorded a turnover of €487m in 2018 (+11% versus 2017) and counted 3.2 million subscribers at 31/12/2018, according to information reported by the French media outlet Libération on 08/08/2019. beIN Sports France, which had momentarily surpassed 4 million subscribers during the 2018 World Cup, lost the rights to broadcast the European cups (Champions League and Europa League) to the media and telecom group Altice France for the 2018-2021 cycle.
