UEFA: €2.6bn distributed in 20 years (2004-2024) to European federations through HatTrick programme

Euro 2020 will inject €775.5m, by 2024, into the coffers of the development program HatTrick, announced UEFA on 08/08/2019. This will bring to €2.6bn the total amount distributed to the 55 national member federations of the European body since the programme's inception in 2004.

"HatTrick began in 2004, based on the simple idea of taking an ample proportion of European Championship revenue and reinvesting it back into football development in three (hence the name of the programme) different ways: investment, education and knowledge sharing," said UEFA.

Specifically, the HatTrick programme helped build 34 of the 55 national team training centres and 31 federation headquarters. Nearly 60% of the national stadiums currently used in Europe have benefited (construction or renovation) from the programme which has also helped to build more than 3,000 mini-pitches, added the European confederation.
