Premier League: major changes in shirt sponsorship for the 2019-20 season

The 2019-20 season of the Premier League began with the Liverpool FC - Norwich City FC match (4-1) at Anfield (53,394 places) on Friday, 09/08/2019. adidas, Emirates, eToro, 1xBet, AIA ... many changes are to be noted in terms of sponsorship for this new season (the first of the new cycle of TV rights, 2019-2022).

Arsenal FC has recorded the two most expensive sponsorship deals in its history. The renegotiated agreement with Emirates as the main shirt sponsor starts in 2019-20, and increases the annual amount to the club by £16 million (€18.6m) to £40m (€45.1m) per season until 2023-24. In addition, adidas succeeds Puma as the club's equipment supplier, for £60m (€68.3m) per season until 2023-24.

If Puma no longer supplies Arsenal, the German brand has become equipment manufacturer of the 2018-19 Premier League champions, Manchester City FC, paying £65m (€ 75.4m) per season until 2028-29.

The 2019-20 Premier League cumulative main shirt sponsorship totals £331.6m (€380.16m), or £16.6m (€19m) on average per club, an increase of 20% compared to 2018-19 (€316.6m).
