Bundesliga: turnover of €489.5m for Borussia Dortmund in 2018-19 (-8.7%)

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) reported a turnover of €489.5 in the 2018-19 financial year (from 01/07/2018 to 30/06/2019), down 8.7 % compared to the previous year (record of €536m), announced the club on 13/08/2019, which stated "Borussia Dortmund remains a thriving sports and economic enterprise".

Excluding proceeds from player transfers, the revenue of the German club increased by 17.9% in 2018-19, reaching €369.3m (versus €313.3m in 2017-18). Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA posted an EBITDA of almost €116m on 30/06/2019, down 15.5% year-on-year (€137.3m in 2017-18), and a net profit of nearly €17.4m (compared to €28.5m in 2017-18).

"We are a strong brand, we are present in the Top 3 (at the national level) in all relevant fields, we will continue to develop in the German market, but also internationally, especially in the Americas and in Asia because our travels are paying off, the (latest) one in the US has been a total success," said Hans-Joachim Watzke, chairman of the board of Borussia Dortmund, which also has €355m in equity.
