Leicester City: Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha named chairman, 10 months after the death of his father

Thailand's Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, 34 years old, has officially been confirmed as chairman of Leicester City FC (Premier League) and "will continue to lead the club," the club announced on 08/08/2019. He becomes the 31^st chairman of the history of the English club.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has been the interim chairman of Leicester City FC since the death of his father Vichai in a helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium on 27/10/2018. Before the death of his father, he was vice-chairman of the club, which the Srivaddhanaprabha family has owned since 2010.

"Khun Aiyawatt succeeds the late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and will continue to lead the Club in the pursuit of a vision he and his father began when their Leicester City journey started nearly a decade ago.It is a vision the Srivaddhanaprabha family, the Board of Directors, management, players and staff remain wholly committed to turning into Khun Vichai’s legacy," stated Leicester City FC.
