France: OTT platform Salto (France Télévisions, TF1 and M6) "launched in the first quarter of 2020"

"Following the favorable opinion of the CSA (French Audiovisual Authority) dated 17/07/2019 and the authorization given by the French Competition Authority on 12/08/2019, the TF1, M6 and France Télévisions groups announce having created today a company whose purpose is the development of the Salto project, which is scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2020," indicated the three audiovisual groups on 12/08/2019.

"This project will be developed in compliance with the commitments required by the Competition Authority, and which the three partners have accepted. The launch of Salto will be a major step forward for the French audiovisual sector, which faces frontal competition from international platforms," added the three groups which announced they will be united in order to build together the French OTT platform Salto, on 15/06/2018.

"An autonomous company, owned equally by the three groups, will be created to operate this platform," added the three companies on 15/06/2018.
