Bundesliga: Bayern Munich open an office in New York, Rudolf Vidal appointed director

Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) announced the establishment of its first office in the United States on 25/02/2014. Located in New York, this new branch will open its doors on 01/04/2014 in Manhattan. The team, starting with three people, will be led by Rudolf Vidal. The mission of the former goalkeeper, who has legal experience, includes marketing and internationalisation of the club in North America, the growth of the Bayern brand, the development of existing networks and the acquisition of new partners.

"American by birth, Rudolf Vidal is the ideal recruit for Bayern Munich. He has many years of experience in the sports media and marketing industry," said Jörg Wacker, director of internationalisation and strategy for Bayern Munich, on 25/02/2014. "We believe that the involvement and expertise of Rudolf Vidal and his team in New York will significantly advance the internationalisation programme of Bayern."

• Bayern Munich will play in the MLS (Major League Soccer, USA-CAN) All-Star Game in 2014 during its summer tour of the United States, on 06/08/2014 in Portland (Oregon).
