Ligue 1 Conforama: Ineos group, owned by British businessman Jim Ratcliffe, acquires OGC Nice

"Ineos has today completed the deal to acquire OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama)," announced the French club on 26/08/2019. The official takeover of the Nice club by the British company based in Switzerland and specialised in the chemical sector had been due to take place since the operation was authorised by the Competition Authority on 21/08/2019 (see timeline below).

"Ineos, one of the world’s biggest and most exciting companies, owns a number of sports teams and believes its management philosophy will help to develop a strong club that will in time sustainably compete at a European level," added OGC Nice.

"Ineos also owns Lausanne Sports Football Club, which it acquired in November 2017. Ineos acquisitions drive for value and potential for growth, with a close eye on the performance and a focus on costs across all its business," continued OGC Nice, which was acquired by the company owned by British businessman Jim Ratcliffe for an estimated €100m.
