OGC Nice: "To build a European level club in three to five years" (B. Ratcliffe, Ineos Football)

"The approach implemented within Ineos, made of organization, rigor, work and sense of the collective, has allowed the company to go from €200m to €60bn in revenue in 20 years. This is what we also want to deploy at OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama), where it will not be enough to spend money. We want to build a European level club as part of a project in three to five years," said Bob (Robert) Ratcliffe, the CEO of Ineos Football, on 27/08/2019, the day after the formalization of the acquisition of the Nice club by Ineos, a British group based in Switzerland and specialized in the chemicals sector.

"We will study in detail the current resources of the club. The budget of about €50m (as presented by the former owners to the French DNCG control) for this season should increase. We want to go further and it goes through better performance, especially with regard to financial fair play, with the objective of qualification in a European cup at the end of the season," added the brother of the British businessman Jim Ratcliffe, founder and owner of Ineos.
