OGC Nice: Jean-Pierre Rivère becomes president again, Julien Fournier appointed director of football

"At the end of the supervisory board meeting held this Thursday morning, Jean-Pierre Rivère has been appointed president of the OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama) and Julien Fournier, who has played the role of adviser to Ineos on transfers, has been appointed director of football at OGC Nice," announced the French south coast club on 29/08/2019.

Jean-Pierre Rivère therefore returns to his role, which he first held since he became majority shareholder and president of OGC Nice in June 2011. He then sold part of his shares in the club to a group of investors consisting of businessmen Chien Lee (CHN), Alex Zheng (CHN), Paul Conway (USA) and Elliot Hayes (USA), in June 2016, thus becoming a minority shareholder (about 18.5%), while retaining his functions as president he finally left the club in January 2019. Tensions with the new shareholders led to his departure, and it was the Frenchman Gauthier Ganaye who succeeded him as president on 30/01/2019.
