"Full solidarity to Romelu Lukaku (BEL) and even stronger commitment toward annihilating one of the worst plagues that affects football and our world in general. We believe our commitment needs a real support by the rest of the football stakeholders: starting from all the true supporters, to all the stewards in the stands, from police and security agents, passing to media and as well through Lega Serie A and FIGC. The Sardinian club's statement comes the day after the club's home game versus FC Internazionale Milano (Matchday 2 of the 2019-20 Serie A TIM season, 1-2), a match during which the Belgian international Romelu Lukaku was the victim of racist abuse as he stepped up to take a penalty for the Milanese club on 01/09/2019.
