Soccerex: "We have to conclude the European reform project was not good enough" (J. Tebas, LaLiga)

"We have to conclude that the (European competition reform) project was not good enough, or open enough. The vast majority of clubs were against this. In my opinion, too many clubs were not involved in the creation of the project, it was simply forced onto them by, I think, a small subset of big clubs, with no dialogue on the project," stated Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, at Soccerex Europe 2019 in Oeiras (POR) on 05/09/2019.

The 2019 edition of the Soccerex Europe convention is taking place from 05 to 06/09/2019 at TagusPark in Oeiras (POR), outside of Lisbon. News Tank Football is present at the event.

"So the dialogue must improve across the entire landscape. There was no league in Europe, big or small, that could have supported the reform project. So I think the institutional approach to any reform needs to change. They need to rethink their approach in talking to all leagues and all clubs, and working with them more collaboratively," said the leader of LaLiga.
