Soccerex: "Must think about the financial gap in Europe, not only competitions" (J.M. Cruz, Sevilla)

"The ECA is the representative of clubs, mostly those who play in Europe consistently, but there are still many, many other clubs in football, who aspire to European competition for just one season. So we must take care to create a better balance between the clubs that are always in Europe and those that aren't. We have to think more about this financial gap, because the European level also has costs, and many clubs don't have the revenues to sustain this. So they participate in Europe one year, and then it causes more problems for the club in the future. So we must think about the financial imbalance at the European level, and not just competitions," stated Jose Maria Cruz Andres, CEO of Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander, at Soccerex Europe 2019 in Oeiras (POR) on 06/09/2019.
