DFL: VfL Wolfsburg's Volkswagen Arena named "Pitch of the Year" for the 2018-19 Bundesliga season

VfL Wolfsburg's (Bundesliga) pitch has been named "Pitch of the Year" for the 2018-19 Bundesliga season, according to the DFL on 02/09/2019.

The pitch at the Volkswagen Arena (30,000 capacity) came ahead of the Signal Iduna Park (Borussia Dortmund, 81,365 capacity) and Borussia Park (Borussia Mönchengladbach, 59,724 capacity) in the ranking. This is the sixth time Wolfsburg has won the "Pitch of the Year" award, which was first introduced by the German league in the 2013-14 season.

The awards were presented during the 12^th meeting of the groundsmen of the Bundesliga, 2.Bundesliga and 3. Liga clubs. SV Darmstadt 98 received the 2018-19 Pitch of the Year award for the German second division.
