Canal+: acquisition of the operator M7, a channel distributor present in eight European countries

"The Canal+ Group is pleased to have obtained the green light from the European Commission to finalise the acquisition of the operator M7 (a Luxembourg-based channel aggregator and distributor), in accordance with the agreement announced on 27/05/2019. The operation will be completed in the next few days," announced the free and pay-TV group on 05/09/2019.

"This very large-scale acquisition will allow the Canal+ Group to establish itself in eight new European countries, and to reach a customer base of 20 million subscribers worldwide by the end of 2019, including 12 million outside France. M7 is a major European operator, offering television services under different platforms (satellite, DTT, OTT and IPTV) and operating under various brands in the following countries: The Netherlands, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Germany," said Canal+.
