Justice: Paris Commercial Court hearing between Canal+ and the LFP postponed until 25/11/2019

The hearing before the Paris Commercial Court between the Canal+ group and the LFP, initially scheduled to be held on 05/09/2019, has been postponed to 25/11/2019. Canal+ are sueing the LFP for compensation following the matches that were postponed during the 2018-19 season during the "yellow vest" crisis and are asked for €46m from the French League on 04/07/2019.

"The LFP is dismayed to receive a summons before the Paris Commercial Court from Canal+, a long-standing partner of French professional football since 1984. Like clubs and supporters, the LFP suffered for several months from the consequences of a major social crisis, which affected all economic sectors in France. In this context, the LFP and the clubs, in permanent contact with the public authorities and in particular the French Ministry of the Interior, have adapted to face an unprecedented situation and allow the championship to be completed on the scheduled date. The LFP refutes all of Canal+'s allegations and will prove this before the Paris Commercial Court," stated the LFP on 04/07/2019.
