Serie A: Eusebio Di Francesco rehired as manager of Sassuolo, five weeks after being sacked

Italian Eusebio Di Francesco has been rehired as manager of US Sassuolo Calcio (Serie A), announced the club on 03/03/2014. He was relieved of his duties on 28/01/2014 and replaced by Alberto Malesani.

Eusebio Di Francesco manager of Sassuolo from 19/06/2012 to 28/01/2014 won the 2012-13 Championship for Serie B (second division Italian), which saw the club promoted to Serie A for the first time in its history.

Alberto Malesani, appointed on 29/01/2014, was to take the team up in the standings, the club being 18th after 21 matchdays (17 points). The Italian manager suffered five defeats in five matches, making US Sassuolo 20th and last after 26 matchdays (17 points), four points from Chievo, first in the non-relegation zone.
