Davis Cup 2019: Sony Music Latin (record label) and Kosmos to join forces for opening ceremony

Sony Music Latin Iberia, a music label specialised in Spanish-speaking artists, has entered into a "strategic agreement" with Kosmos, organiser of the new format Davis Cup by Rakuten, on 05/09/2019. The first edition of the Davis Cup by Rakuten will take place in Madrid (ESP) from 18 to 24/11/2019.

"A 360-degree audiovisual show will be loaded with technological elements and live music tomark the start of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals on 18/10/2019, starting at 13:00 (CET). The show will combine tradition and innovation, paying tribute to the historical legacy of the Davis Cup with the players from the 18 competing nations participating. Three hours later, at 16:00 (CET), the three ties of the first day will begin: Croatia vs Russia, Italy vs Canada and Belgium vs Colombia," said Kosmos, founded and presided over (see below) by the Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué (ESP, FC Barcelona, LaLiga Santander).

Shakira, a Colombian pop singer and partner of Gerard Piqué, is a member of the label and subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment.
