Brazil 2014 D-100: three stadiums over twelve remain problematic, Sao Paulo, Curitiba and Cuiaba

100 days from the opening match of the 2014 World Cup between Brazil and Croatia in Sao Paulo, on 12/06/2014 (22H CET), nine stadiums are ready, but three are still a problem, on 04/03/2014.

Stadiums of Sao Paulo, Cuiaba and Curitiba will not be delivered until at least April.

Of the six stadiums that were not used during the 2013 Confederations Cup (15/06 to 30/06/2014), only two were delivered. The Arena das Dunas in Natal was inaugurated on 22/01/2014, and the Beira-Rio stadium in Porto Alegre on 20/02/2014. As for the Arena Amazonia in Manaus, it will be officially inaugurated during the quarter-final match of the Copa Verde (regional competition) between Nacional-AM and Remo-PA on 09/03/2014.

"100 days, it's a long way to go and it's a short way to go if there are still problems, said Joseph Blatter, President of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), on 04/03/2014. But now all problems are under control and it will be, in 100 days, an exceptionally good start for an exceptional competition."
