Bundesliga: Huub Stevens replaces Thomas Schneider as manager of VFB Stuttgart

Dutchman, Huub Stevens, has been named manager of VFB Stuttgart (Bundesliga) announced the club on 09/03/2014. He replaces Thomas Schneider who has held the position since 26/08/2013.

"The management made this decision in agreement with Thomas Schneider. The current sports situation meant that the club takes responsibility for this difficult decision. Huub Stevens directed his first training session on 10/03/2014 and will oversee his first match on 15/03/2014, against Bremen" said Bernd Wahler, president of VFB Stuttgart.

VFB Stuttgart suffered eight consecutive defeats in the Bundesliga before the draw (2-2) against Braunschweig, on 08/03/2014. The club is 15^th in the Bundesliga rankings after 24 matchdays (20 points, 5 wins, 5 draws and 14 defeats) and is just one relegation point ahead of Freiburg (17^th, 19 points).
